Tuh-Tuh-Turkey Time!

It's that time again! Time to make fun yummies! I started the celebration Tuesday night by making Sweet Potato Pies. They turned out just lovely. Thanksgiving day started the day with a bang, literally. While making the flan (our contribution to the dessert table) in the morning, I failed to turn down the heat on the stove during the caramelizing of the sugar, when all of a sudden: POP! Crack! SPLAT! SIZZLE! and then flames beaming from the stove top! I would've taken a picture but I think at that point I had gone into shock, lol! Needless to say... I had to go to plan B. Instead of heating the sugar the "traditional" way, I had to resort to using a pot  and pouring it into the glass dish. But the flan turned out wonderful in the end:)
This year we joined with the Jones family and got to celebrate Thanksgiving at their home. Mia and Micah got to play with cousins and also got to meet some of their cousin's cousins.We had a great time together! Happy Thanksgiving!
