Well, after a much awaited time, we finally did it! We took our break and off we went for a good 5 days to the wonderful sunny state of California-specifically, San Diego. We got to experience a little bit of both worlds as far as weather went. The first 3 days we were there it was cold, cloudy and rainy in the mornings; leave it to us Arizonan's to, one- enjoy the weather, and then two- not pack pants or jackets, lol! Go figure, right? Thank goodness for little beach shops and Target, hahahaha!!
Our trip was AWESOME! A couple of days away from home to spend together as a family is always fun! We loved being able to explore together and see the beautiful things that have been created for us. Can't wait to come back!
The 2nd day we took a drive to LaJolla and visited the seals at Children's Beach. A new experience for all of us because we saw the seals literally lying out on the open beach and the huge rocks. Then we stopped at Wahoo's Tacos and had the best fish tacos in Cali!
On our 3rd day we were daring and decided to take the kids to SeaWorld in 60 degree weather...EEKS! For Mia, I think, it turned out to be a combination of Finding Nemo, Happy Feet, and Elmo's World. Needless to say, she had a BLAST! The most memorable moment was when Elmo appeared along with Cookie, Zoey and Bert 'n Ernie- she was at a loss for words...it was sooo cute! Then, she also got to exerience her first mini-amusement park rides, lol! By far- the best part of the day! By 4 o' clock Mia and Micah were pooped...so we decided to head back to our hotel and regroup.
We still had 2 more days left and lots more to see. Despite the weather and Mia starting to come down with a bit of a cold, we made an additional trip to SeaWorld and got to see the Cirque de Mer and Blue Horizon's Show, which were fun to see! It was a first for Mia, Micah and Ed to go watch a 4D movie: Elmo's Light. Camera. Imagination! And of course, they loved it!
On our final day we went to the beach at Coronado Island and spent our morning by the dock and at the little near shops nearby. The weather was a bit more cooperative and Mia and I went for a little dip in the water. Micah and Dadda stayed behind just relaxin' and taking in the sun.
